Aftercare of your Treatments with Kitty Bee's
Manicure/Pedicure & Gel Polish Treatments
Our general manicure & pedicure procedures are completed with normal Nail Polish, unless otherwise requested for Gel Polish, which is hardened the UV technology to ensure it last 3-4 weeks, rather than your usual nail polish which will start to chip a lot sooner.
We have a few simple guidelines for aftercare of your nail treatments to ensure you make the most of your new polished pinkies!
- Please refrain from biting or picking them, this will chip the nails and you could ingest the pieces of varnish that may come off. Although this isnt dangerous, it isn't good for the human body.
- Try to avoid such tasks that involve contact with your nails, such as scratching or picking surfaces as this may cause them to weaken, chip or break.
- Nails generally don't appreciate being in contact with chemicals, detergents or water for too long, therefore we recommend that you wear rubber gloves during these tasks. This will allow them to keep dry but hydrated naturally and will avoid making them brittle and chipping.
- If the polish or gel starts to lift or chip, please do not pick or lift the coats any further. It will cause more lift and chipping and further damage the nail plate, it is best to contact your technician for repair of the nail or to have the odd nail re-done.
- Removing Gel polish should be done professionally due to the damage it can cause to the nail. It is a stronger substance, so will not lift as easily with your normal removers. A moisturising procedure for the nails it then carried out to ensure they remain hydrated. We recommend not attempting this yourself.
- Removal of nail polish, can be completed at home with a non-acetone remover which can be recommended by Kitty Bee's. This is acceptable for most nail enhancements.
- Gel Polish is a tougher, longer lasting technology, but we still advise taking care when doing the housework! We know it won't get done without you and you still want to have shiny nails at the end. If you have any problems, please do not hesitate to contact us regarding a repair.
